How To Improve Your Tractor Performance

You may not be a qualified mechanic, but it is necessary to know the basic maintenance methods to take care of your tractor. As a farmer, you want to start the day without interruption due to tractor engine failure or a flat tire. Since you rely on the piece of equipment to create your income, you need to make a checklist of maintenance duties. Here are a few basic things you need to consider for enhancing the lifespan of your tractor.

Store in a garage

Although a tractor looks more formidable than a small car, its functionality can deter when exposing to harsh weather. If you have a garage for your car, keep in mind that your tractor deserves a better place. Build a barn or a garage near your ranch. The outbuilding will protect your property from rain, storm, snow, and extreme heat.

Check components

Just like any other vehicle or machine, a tractor is built with various parts and components, including Farmall H radiator, Hydraulic pumps, tires, steering system, gear, brake system, battery, oil tank, and suspension. Every time you use the tractor, you have to check the condition of these components before starting the engine.

Oil change

After the harvest season, you may have some break from farm works. If you leave your tractor untouched for months, the oil may saturate and form debris at the bottom. That is why you should change the oil regularly and keep the fuel pipe clean.

If you are not familiar with maintenance activities, get a manual instruction from the authorized tractor dealer. Manufacturers provide customers with booklets so they can learn basic maintenance in times of emergency.
