Is Your Farmall H Overheating? Check the Radiator

The radiator in your Farmall H tractor isn’t designed to last forever—after all, it’s over 50 years old! If you notice you’re having trouble keeping your engine cool, take some time to check out the radiator.  Here are the telltale signs that indicate you may need to replace it and how to go about doing it yourself. Culprit #1: The Air Pump The air pump helps circulate coolant throughout the engine, and if it’s not working properly, your engine can overheat. To check if the air pump is working, start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes. Then, feel around the radiator hoses. If they’re hot, that means coolant is flowing through them. If they’re not, then the air pump isn’t working and needs to be replaced. Culprit #2: An Imbalance in the Coolant If your Farmall H radiator is overheating, it could be due to an imbalance in the coolant.
